Hi, I am Kimberly Hicks, and I have worked in the field of counseling for 3.5 years. I am a graduate of Francis Marion University in Florence, SC and Capella University in Minneapolis, MN. I have experience working with adolescents and adults via telehealth and have also worked with adults in a correctional institution. I believe in the importance of building a strong therapeutic alliance and providing optimal support to help individuals improve their overall well-being. I tend to utilize cognitive behavioral approaches because I believe that restructuring thinking patterns can improve one’s quality of life. I also enjoy the utilization of solution-focused brief therapy, reality therapy, and have experience in crisis management. I have provided treatment for anxiety, depression, self-esteem issues, adjustment disorders, psychotic-related disorders, substance abuse, addictive behaviors, mood disorders, and personality disorders.
I also aim to empower my clients through a strengths-based approach because I believe everyone, through consistency, hard work, and determination, can improve their current circumstances. I am extremely patient, kind, non-judgmental, and am ready to be a listening ear to those in need. Even when the path is not always made easy, change is there for those who seek it. I am here to help if I can!
