Palmetto Counseling & Consulting Services is proud to announce our decision to sponsor this year’s NAMI Piedmont Tri-County NAMIWalk to occur on October 10, 2020, the National Day of Hope!
What Is NAMIWalks?
The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) is a national, non-profit organization that raises awareness and provides essential education, advocacy, and support group programs at no cost for people living with mental illness and their loved ones in local communities.
In 2002, NAMIWalks was created. It is the nation’s largest mental health awareness and fundraising event for local friends, family, and those who may know someone or be someone affected by mental illness. We invite you to join us for NAMIWalk Charlotte. Proceeds from the national walk will go toward free NAMI educational programs.
What Is National Day of Hope?
The National Day of Hope is the day when many of our NAMIWalks locations hold their event simultaneously across the country when participants raise funds and provide a stepping stone to helping more people with mental health needs. During the fall this day also coincides with World Mental Health Day an international day for global mental health education, awareness, and advocacy against social stigma.
How Can You Get Involved?
There are many ways to support NAMI. And you can also support the organization all year long!
Let’s take the STEPS we need to take together to address the mental health needs of our community, replace stigma with understanding and help thousands of families and individuals!
